Most people think they can live on this earth and get by being nice, not bothering anybody, hiding under the radar. Playing it safe. That’s all well and good but it only gets you so far. If all you want to do is fly under the radar, then stop reading. This message isn’t for you. You might think you’re putting yourself out there, especially if you do things a bit differently than your peers. But if you’re comfortable you’re NOT actually putting yourself out there. Not. At. All. What makes you shy and recede and what makes somebody else squeamish are two entirely different things, so you can’t say you’re reaching and stretching just because you’re doing things that others aren’t. YOU need to feel uncomfortable. Do you want to surpass to YOUR potential or theirs? Make a leap. Stretch a bit. There will come a point when you’re ready to take responsibility for your dreams and goals. When it’s do or die and you’ve got to step up even though things are not easy. Guess what?!? They never have been easy and if they’re worth having they never will be! You were just deluding yourself to think they were. Stop being a tourist. Stop checking in when the scenery gets interesting and tuning out on the lessons. Stay for the hard part because that’s what moves you forward.
I should have learned my lessons sooner and stopped fucking around with fun stuff that didn’t get me anywhere and started on the path I actually chose based on what I like and what I’m good at. Where are you now? In La La Land somewhere thinking everything will magically work out because you’re nice and people like you and you think you want it? That’s for babies. DO you want it? If so: WAKE. UP. You’ve got to bust your butt, even for the things that come easy. Success is not a cake walk. Tourists wander around enjoying the scenery. Do that in moderation. Then GET TO WORK.
